Quantum Leap

On leaping, being led, and helping people make it home

I don’t consider myself prophetic… there are times where I would say “I had a feeling…” something might happen, but not a full downloaded vision of what will “come to pass.” Often times I wish in those moments that I had written the “feeling” down for proof, to show someone that somehow I did sort of know beforehand… But even still, I wouldn’t put myself in the same light as an Ezekiel, Elijah… or even Jeremiah… No dry bones or calling down fire for me… but I do believe God knew me before I was formed in the womb… He definitely knew me… don’t know if I was sanctified then… or even now…

What I do know is my life feels more like the classic TV show from the 80s/90s, “Quantum Leap.” For those who may not have had a chance to watch one of the greatest shows known to man, Dr. Sam Beckett was part of a time travel experiment that caused him to be stuck in this cycle of being placed in other people’s bodies until he figured out how to fix something in their timeline. His tasks would range from saving marriages and preventing death to righting an injustice, often fumbling through each scenario until he figured it out… and the moment he did, it was on to the next adventure like Dora the Explorer… but I digress…

✦ ✦ ✦

I don’t get to body hop like Sam… but in a similar but far more divine way, I have someone guiding me like Sam had Al… Al had a little futuristic electronic device he would type on to get info… my guide came with a book… 66 books in one to assist me when I’m lost… or just when I need guidance or understanding the whys of life… I feel I have further digressed, but stick with me, it’ll make sense eventually… at least that’s what my guide has shown me…

Stick with Him even if it seems like it’s going a way it wasn’t originally set to go, and it’ll make sense…

My quantum leap has me going from job to job, setting to setting, meeting new people, being involved in different situations… sometimes it’s a simple… reminder of what God expects from us. One of the caveats is that sometimes I leap into a place to get poured into… reality is, we all need to be poured into, especially if we are constantly pouring out… It sometimes takes a moment to realize, but it just goes into strengthening understanding and discernment.

There have been some very powerful and life-altering moments in these leaps… when someone calls you ready to give it all up, and just being a coworker they gravitate to helps them change the outlook. Or being seen active in the community or church, and people tell you you’ve been instrumental in their walk… it’s a blessing to be in this place. You learn to appreciate the leaps. I know I do at least… even though I don’t know where the next leap will lead me, or what the task will be when I arrive. I just know, whoever it is, I will be grateful God is using me.

Sam wanted to get home…

I’m just wanting to help people make it home…
