Come
Out
There are moments in life where God doesn't whisper, he calls. Not politely, not casually but with authority.
"I knew that You always hear Me and listen to Me; but I have said this because of the people standing around, so that they may believe that You have sent Me [and that You have made Me Your representative]." When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" Out came the man who had been dead, his hands and feet tightly wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips), and with a [burial] cloth wrapped around his face. Jesus said to them, "Unwrap him and release him." John 11:42–44 AMP
Not a whisper. Not a suggestion. A command.
This is for people who know God but are still stuck in something that feels like a grave.
- You can be alive spiritually and still wrapped up in dead things.
- You can be chosen but still stuck.
Lazarus wasn't just anybody — he was loved by Jesus! Jesus's personal best friend. Same with Lazarus's sisters Martha & Mary. Yet, he still ended up in a tomb.
That means...
- You can be called and still feel trapped.
- You can be loved by God and still battle certain habits.
- You can have purpose and still feel buried.
Someone knows God, goes to church, even serves — but privately... still dealing with lust. Still bound by anger. Still stuck in cycles they can't break. They're not dead spiritually, but something in their life smells like death.
God doesn't ignore it.
He calls it out.
Jesus calls you out by name
Jesus didn't say, "Hey, whoever's in there." He said, "Lazarus." That means this call is personal. God isn't just saying somebody come out — he's saying you.
- Come out of that mindset
- Come out of that unequal, bad relationship
- Come out of that addiction
- Come out of that fear — for fear brings punishment, darkness
You ever feel convicted about something and you try to ignore it? That's not guilt — that's a call.
God is saying: "I didn't make you to live in that."
- The Lord is not father of darkness, confusion, sin, contract, worldliness.
The grave will try to hold you even after God calls you
The Bible says Lazarus came out — but he was still wrapped. So even after obedience, there can still be residue.
You answered God with a yes... but...
- The habits still pull.
- The thoughts still fight.
- The environment still tempts.
Someone decides "I'm done with toxic relationships." But then... old texts come back. Old feelings resurface. Old environments try to pull them in.
Just because you came out doesn't mean everything fell off immediately.
You have to let go of what's been holding you
Jesus told others to loose him and let him go. Some things fall off instantly. Some things require process, discipline and community.
You can't come out and still cling to what buried you.
Let's be real — some people want resurrection without release.
But you can't walk in new life while holding onto dead weight.
Staying in the grave is a choice once God calls you
Once Jesus calls you out, staying in becomes disobedience.
God is not going to drag you out of what you keep choosing.
- You know that music pulls you away from God.
- You know certain conversations lead you into sin.
- You know certain habits weaken your spirit.
But if you keep going back — that's not bondage anymore, that's agreement.
And God is saying today: "Enough. Come out."
Come out of spiritual laziness · secret sin · compromise
fear of what people think · addiction · wicked ways · self righteousness
Some of you — God has been calling for a long time, a while. And you've been delaying, excusing, negotiating. But today is not a suggestion, it's a command.
Because what's waiting on the other side of your obedience is life. Not fake life. Not temporary happiness. Real. Freedom.
Ask yourself... What is my grave?
Don't overthink it when you already know. And today, you don't need another sign. You just need to respond.
So Father God, In the name of Jesus, we thank you for your voice — the voice that calls us out of darkness and into life.
Lord, you see every person right now. You see the areas where they feel stuck, bound or buried. But today, we hear you clearly. Calling us out.
Give us the strength to respond. Give us the courage to let go of what's been holding us. Break every chain, every habit, every mindset that is not from you.
Lord, we don't want to stay where you've called us out of. So set us free — not just spiritually — but in our minds, our choices and our daily lives.
And from this moment forward, we choose life, we choose obedience and more importantly... We choose you.
